- Liberty State Park in New Jersey
Directions
The New York City location departs from Battery Park in Manhattan, while the New Jersey location departs from Liberty State Park. It’s best to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure to allow ample time for security screening and boarding.
If your ticket includes stops at Liberty Island and Ellis Island, plan for additional time to explore these sites and keep a departure schedule handy.
- The Security Screening Facility and ferry departure are located behind Castle Clinton, on the waterfront side of Battery Park.
- Easy access via public transportation, including major subway lines and bus routes.
- We recommend that you include ample time and maintain a flexible schedule to include boarding the ferry and clearing the Screening Facility.
- Battery Park is the departure point from New York. The ticket office is located within the Castle Clinton National Monument in Battery Park.
Statue City Cruises recommends using public transportation to get to The Battery (New York location), as parking is very limited in lower Manhattan. Visit www.mta.info for more information about public transportation in Manhattan. The Battery is also accessible by taxi.
For additional information on transportation to Battery Park, options include:
- Ride-Sharing Options: Ride-sharing services such as Uber, Lyft, and taxis are widely available in the New York City and New Jersey area, and can provide a direct and stress-free ride to Statue City Cruises at Battery Park, with drop-off points just a short walk from the dock.
- By Bus: Take the M1, M6 or M15 to South Ferry (last stop).
- By Car: From the East Side, take the FDR Drive South to Exit 1, South Ferry, Battery Park. From the West Side, take the Westside Highway South (Route 9A) to Battery Park.
- By Subway: Take any of the following lines: LOCAL 1 (7th Avenue Line) to the last stop – South Ferry, Express (Lexington Avenue Line) 4 or 5 to Bowling Green, or local from Brooklyn/Queens R/W (Broadway Line) to Whitehall Street.
In New Jersey, visitors can board from Liberty State Park in Jersey City, offering stunning views of the Manhattan skyline.

- Ample parking for cars and buses. Easy access from the New Jersey Turnpike and Interstate 78.
- We recommend that you include ample time and maintain a flexible schedule to include boarding the ferry and clearing the Screening Facility.
- Liberty State Park is the departure point from New Jersey. The ticket office is located within the Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal in Liberty State Park.
Liberty State Park in Jersey City is accessible by car via Exit 14B of the New Jersey Turnpike, with paid parking near the ferry terminal (lot#8) at a cost of $7 per car. Visitors can also take the PATH train to Exchange Place or Grove Street and connect by taxi, ride-share, or the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, which stops about a 20-minute walk from the ferry. Ride-shares and taxis can also drop off directly at the park entrance.

- By Public Transportation: Take the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) to the Liberty State Park Station, then walk or bike 1 mile on Audrey Zapp Drive to the ticket office area located in the CRRNJ Terminal. From the ticket office the security facility and ferry gangway are a short walk. At the entrance of Liberty State Park, the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail is accessible by PATH at the Hoboken Station or Newport (Jersey City) Station. - By Car: New Jersey turnpike, exit 14-B follow signs to Liberty State Park
