Every visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island begins at one of two convenient departure locations:
- Castle Clinton at Battery Park in New York City
- The Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal at Liberty State Park in New Jersey
Whether arriving by public transportation in New York City or taking advantage of convenient parking in New Jersey, both departure points offer easy access to Liberty Island and Ellis Island.
Directions
Battery Park, located in Lower Manhattan, is the New York departure point for Statue City Cruises. Easily accessible by subway, bus, taxi, rideshare, and ferry, it's also home to Castle Clinton National Monument, where the official Statue City Cruises ticket office is located.

The official Statue City Cruises ticket office is located inside Castle Clinton National Monument in Battery Park.
After entering Battery Park, look for the large circular stone building near the waterfront. This historic fort is home to the official Statue City Cruises ticket office and visitor services.
The ticket office serves as the primary location for:
- Purchasing tickets (subject to availability)
- Picking up Crown Reserve wristbands
- Receiving ticketing assistance
- Speaking with a Guest Service Representative
Crown Reserve ticket holders must stop at the ticket office before entering security screening to receive their required Crown wristbands.
The ticket office is located adjacent to the security screening area, making it a convenient first stop before beginning your departure process to Liberty Island and Ellis Island.
Statue City Cruises recommends using public transportation when visiting Battery Park, as parking is limited throughout Lower Manhattan.

From the East Side
- Take FDR Drive South to Exit 1 (South Ferry/Battery Park)
From the West Side
- Take the West Side Highway South (Route 9A) to Battery Park
Visitors who choose to drive should allow additional time to locate parking and travel through Lower Manhattan traffic.

The official Statue City Cruises ticket office is located inside the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey (CRRNJ) Terminal.
Upon arrival at Liberty State Park, follow signs for Statue City Cruises and the CRRNJ Terminal. The ticket office is located inside the terminal building and serves as the primary location for:
- Purchasing tickets
- Picking up Crown Reserve wristbands
- Receiving ticketing assistance
- Speaking with a Guest Service Representative
ⓘ Crown Reserve ticket holders must stop at the ticket office before entering security screening to receive their tickets and required Crown wristbands. Visitors with General Admission, Pedestal Reserve, and Hard Hat Tour tickets purchased online may proceed directly to the security screening facility.
- Liberty State Park in Jersey City is accessible by car via Exit 14B of the New Jersey Turnpike, with paid parking available near the ferry departure area in Lot #8. The current parking fee is $7 per vehicle.
- Once inside Liberty State Park, continue along Audrey Zapp Drive toward the waterfront and follow signs for Statue City Cruises. Parking Lot #8 is located on the right-hand side near the ferry departure area.
- After parking, walk toward the far back left corner of the parking lot (when facing the water) and follow the clearly marked pedestrian pathway to the security screening facility. The walk takes approximately 5 minutes.
- Enter "Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal" or "Statue City Cruises Liberty State Park" into your GPS for the most accurate directions to the departure area.
Public Transportation
- Take the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) to Liberty State Park Station, then walk or bike approximately 1 mile along Audrey Zapp Drive to the CRRNJ Terminal.
- The HBLR connects with PATH service at Hoboken Terminal, Newport Station, and Exchange Place.
By Car
- Take Exit 14B from the New Jersey Turnpike and follow signs for Liberty State Park and the Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal.
By Ferry
- Take the Liberty Landing Ferry from Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan to Liberty Landing Marina in Liberty State Park, then take a 10-minute walk to the CRRNJ Terminal and Statue City Cruises departure area. Be sure to check the ferry schedule before your visit, as service is seasonal and operating hours vary.
Ride Share & Taxi
- Uber, Lyft, and taxi services are widely available throughout New York City and New Jersey and can provide direct transportation to Liberty State Park.
