Bring Learning Beyond the Classroom
Give your students an unforgettable educational field trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. From immigration and American history to engineering and science, these iconic landmarks bring classroom lessons to life through hands-on learning.
Educational Experiences
Enhance your student group's visit with a variety of educational activities available throughout Liberty Island and Ellis Island, including:
- Self-guided audio tours on both islands
- National Park Service ranger-led programs for grades 3–6 and 9–12 (available October through March; limited availability)
- Museum exhibits, historic landmarks, and interactive learning opportunities
- Complete a Junior Ranger activity booklet during your visit, take the Junior Ranger Oath, and receive an official Junior Ranger badge.
In order to verify school group status and qualify for the group discounted rate, the group must fax or email a letter on school letterhead detailing the date and time of trip and the number of students and adults visiting.
One adult chaperone (age 21 or older) is required for every 10 students (age 17 and younger) and must remain with the group at all times. Visitors under the age of 21 do not qualify as chaperones.
Only the required number of chaperones will qualify for the discount, all additional tickets must be paid at the regular adult or senior rate.
Chaperones must be with the group at all times.
All visiting schools must follow our Code of Conduct. Please download the Code of Conduct form and share with chaperones ahead of your visit.
- Reservation requests may be submitted up to six months in advance.
- Payment in full by school check is required two weeks before the tour date.
- The discounted rate is only available for purchase through our group sales department. It is not available for purchase online.
- The discounted rate does not apply to students beyond their senior year of high school and is not available in July and August.
- For General Admission tickets, note that the time chosen is the approximate time you will enter the Screening Facility, not the vessel departure time.
- We recommend that you travel lightly.
- All persons and property are subject to search.
- Locker access is not available for educational groups.
