Planning to photograph or film at the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island?
Whether you're visiting as a photographer, content creator, member of the media, or planning a commercial production, this guide covers everything you need to know about filming permits, photography policies, drone restrictions, media access, and production logistics before your visit.
Photography and video recording aboard Statue City Cruises vessels do not require a filming permit.
Guests are welcome to capture their journey across New York Harbor, provided filming does not interfere with vessel operations, crew responsibilities, or the experience of other visitors.

We can assist with transportation logistics, filming aboard our vessels, and coordination with the National Park Service when appropriate.
